Alberto B. - President | Club Mentor
Alberto is a bilingual and bicultural leader with over two decades of experience at the intersection of purpose, culture, and people. At his last corporate position, he championed inclusive leadership, designed mentorship programs, and drove enterprise strategies that fostered belonging and elevated underrepresented talent. As a longtime advocate for equity and connection, he has served on local and national nonprofit boards including the San Diego LGBT Community Center and Equality California. A proud Mexican immigrant and member of the LGBTQ+ community, Alberto brings both lived experience and professional expertise to every space he enters. His leadership is grounded in one guiding belief: “No se trata de llegar solo, sino de abrir puertas para que lleguemos todes.” (It’s not about getting there alone—it’s about opening doors so we all can arrive.) Now, as he transitions into a new chapter, Alberto is pursuing a Leadership Coaching Certification at the University of San Diego. He remains committed to mentoring, speaking, and creating inclusive cultures where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered to grow. |

Alicia L. - Vice President of Education | Area 17 Director | Club Mentor
Alicia is a San Diego Native. She is a Career Advisor for students in the medical field. During her presentations and workshops, she would catch her audience falling asleep or just bored; so she joined Toastmasters. She knew she needed to make a change. The Career Builders club has helped her increase her confidence and has given her the opportunity to learn leadership skills. When Alicia is not at work or in a Toastmasters meeting, she is usually spending time with her family and friends. She likes to hike, practice her Spanish, read self help books, dream about future travels and dance in her car. |
